Vomit Bag Ring

Vomit Bag Ring

So, I drive for Uber on the weekends, the overnight shift, driving all the "drunkies" home. Well, we all know that "drunkies" tend to also become "barfies" from time to time. The hospital-grade legit vomit bags aren't particularly cheap, but you can't beat the design form of "insert mouth into large open end", so I wanted to replicate that design on the cheap. The bags I use are from the Dollar Store; they're treat bags for kid's birthdays and such. It's important that they be plastic and not paper, since paper doesn't hold alcohol-based sick, $1 for 25 of the plastic bags, and the rings use very little filament. The rings are a bit large, so you'll likely need to print them separately, but print time for the base is about 30 minutes, and the insert takes less than 10 minutes. I thought about printing multiple sets vertically, but it seemed like it would give a suboptimal fit of the two pieces, so I opted to stick with printing them individually. The insert fits into a groove in the base. The bag would be placed through the base and then wrapped over it by a half inch or so, with the groove facing downward toward the bottom of the bag. Then, the insert clips in, pinching the overhanging half inch of bag so that it becomes captive (see closeup picture). The rings are technically reusable, but after Pukie McPukerson does his business in them, you probably won't want them back, which is why I tried to keep the setup as compact as possible, so you won't think twice about letting Mr. McPukerson take his accomplishment home with him. You'll see in the pictures the side-by-side comparison of a legit hospital vomit bag and the one that I've designed here.
