Voxelab_Aquila_Pro Dragonfly_BMS Gantry_Adapter & Right Side BLTouch Mount

<p>First part of this remix is the original version of the HMG6 “Voxelab_Aquila_Pro OEM-MK8-MS-BMS Gantry_Adapter.stl” does not actually fit the Dragonfly BMS hotend. I've modified the part so it does. (edit: Updated version of the Voxelab_Aquila_Pro OEM-MK8-MS-BMS Gantry_Adapter.stl does now fit the hotend but does not align with the filament path preoperly)</p><p>Second, I wanted to mount the BL-Touch on the right side to allow the probe to access all the bed screws for tramming and also create a bed mesh from the bed screw locations for a more accurate bed mesh. I'm using the “HMG6-single-5015.stl”. The BL-Touch mounts fit perfect with it. Can't say if they do with other fan mount options. They should but I haven't tested.</p><p>Note: to allow the probe more bed access you need to cut a notch in the left X/Z bracket so the bolt that attaches the top left V-Wheel on the X gantry back plate won't collide. See pic with red circle highlighting the notch. I cut about 6mm deep into the bracket.</p><p>You will also need to print a new mount for the X endstop so you can re-locate it. I used this one, <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5309192.">https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5309192.</a> Its the “Aquila_Adjustable_X_Housing_V6.stl”. This is not my work. Creds to the designer.</p><p>But wait, there's more. Now you need to edit your firmware to tell the printer the X end stop is now in the negative. Mine is at -15. This lets the printer know the endstop is no longer 0. 0 should be when the nozzle is 5mm or so in from the edge of the bed. 15mm for me is the distance from the X endstop switch to the nozzle being 5mm in from the bed, hence -15.</p><p>Note: -15 is what my setup turned out to be. Yours will probably be different depending upon how far you move you X endstop switch. -13 is enough to allow the probe to reach the center of the left bed screws. 2mm grace to stop the endstop switch being triggered during meshing.&nbsp;</p><p>Since the probe mount is now on the right, we need right hand versions of the probe mounts, so there in here as well. I used the compact mounts to keep the probe as close to the nozzle as possible to give it access to as much of the bed as possible.</p><p>I've skinned the holes on the BLTouch_Wing_Compact_Skinned_RSS.stl. This should allow the holes to print better on top of support. Its a single layer, just drill the skin out or use a hobby knife.</p><p>Probe offsets;</p><p>x_offset: 38.5<br>y_offset: 3</p><p>Update 24/10/2022: I use the “HMG6 DD Base OEM-MK8-MS-BMS - Orbiter v1.5 Reverse” which has a filament path misalignment between it and the Dragonfly BMS hot end. I assume this will be the case for all the extruder/part cooIer mounts compatible with this back plate. At first I didn't think this would be an issue but I am seeing some oddities with Pressure Advance. I put this down to the filament path misalignment causing extra resistance to the filament flow. Specifically during retraction and de-retaction, resulting in blobing and stringing. I have modified the gantry back plates by extending the hotend mount by 1.25mm to better align the filament path an hopefully resolve this issue. This may cause the hotend heasink to not fit properly in the extruder/part cooler mount.
