!!Attention this was built in imperial units not metric. Please see end of summary for imperial dimensions!! Hello! I designed and created a flight Stick for use in No Mans Sky VR. Link to Video: https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/hox0mk/diy_vr_flight_stick_for_vr_thingiverse_download/ Printed out of ABS, and tied together using Elastic Paracord ordered from Amazon, Link Below: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MMQYD8A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 A friend Printed this for me, so unfortunately I don't know the Print Settings at this time. I don't have a 3D printer of my own yet*** ***Directions: Attaching the grip to the base: 1. After you 3D printer finishes the print remove support material 2. Place the hand grip portion onto the ball joint portion and rotate around with a little bit of pressure for a few minutes. This will smooth out the contact between the ball joint and the hand grip. 3. Thread the paracord through the eyelets on the base and the grip at your desired length and tie double knots at each eyelet and cut excess paracord with scissors. The amount of Tension is up to you, but i would recommend trying to make it as taught as possible. 4. Repeat "Step 3" at each set of eyelets. Be sure to try to retain the same length and tension as the first to keep the Grip centered on the Ball Joint. 5. When you have finished tying down the Grip to the Base, get a Bic Lighter (or Lighter of choice) and lightly flame the knots and frayed trimmed paracord ends. The paracord is made of plastic nylon fabric and rubber, applying light heat will slightly melt and fuse together the knots to prevent slipping over time. Base Information: The base is designed with several uses in mind, I personally tie down my base and grip to my leg with Elastic paracord (shown in an above image), but you can easily use velcro to loop through the long eyelets in the base to attach to a Chair arm or attach Velcro to the bottom of the base to attach to a Desk or second surface. Any Questions Please reach out an I will respond as quickly as I can! Have a great day! Dimensions: The Grip Portion is 1.75" w X 2.774"h X 2.789"d. This measurement is taken based on the Cup/Flat Area on the bottom of the grip portion being parallel with the floor. The Base is 3.625"w X 2.226"h X 3.625"d Also, smoothing out the cup and ball joint with some light sanding then applying some lithium grease or vaseline will help out with the smoothness of the flight stick.
