the regular hdd carriage for 2,5" hard disc drives or ssd is limited to 9mm, so max. capacity is 1TB, because all regular HDDs of 2TB and more are higher then 9mm. By extend the carriage the HDD is outside the case and the height no longer limited. Now I have a 4TB disk drive in my VU Plus Solo 4K receiver. You need an extension SATA cable. best is a 20cm DELOCK 84632, EAN 4043619843626 just fix it with 2 M2.5 screws and use 2 or 3 zip ties to collect the cable and keep it as flat as possible. I can't find a 10cm version of this cable, what would be way better then this.
