Based off the YE-4 gunship from SWG This vessel was developed from blueprints for the VX-9 Mailoc which were acquired by the Republic SIS and freely distributed to Republic aligned companies. The VX-4 Preserver in specific was designed by Republic Fleet Systems as a heavily armed transport. Several were used during the Battle of Hoth to ferry stealth field generators back to Republic space as the tide of the battle turned.
