I redesigned the extruder plate to enable printing of flex filaments, but I noticed my extruder stepper heating up excessively for no apparent reason.\r\n\r\nInitially, I suspected a misconfigured stepper driver was causing the issue, so I reduced power to the absolute minimum, but the problem persisted.\r\n\r\nFurther investigation revealed that direct contact between the stepper and cooling block was allowing heat transfer to occur. To resolve this, I've separated the stepper from the cooling block, a solution yet to be tested.
