Mount a laser on the fan shroud of Monoprice Maker Select v2.1. Should work for version 2 as well; not sure about others. Needs 4x M3 screws for the laser, and 2x M3 >6mm screws for mounting to the fan shroud. This adds some weight to the hot-end, but it's easy enough to remove when not in use.
