I create a low-poly shield model in 3Ds Max, then export it to ZBrush for the addition of high-poly details. Next, I re-export both models back into 3Ds Max. From there, I unwrap my low-poly model and send it off to Substance. Finally, I project the high detail onto the low-poly mesh and begin painting.
