Freddy is an internet enabled plant watering moisture detecting frog. Using a Spark iOT controller, Freddy (from the Phil and Freddy app series) can be used to check on and water your favorite plant--from anywhere on the internet. Why Watagage 2000? Many years ago (before the internet) a friend and I created a plant moisture detecting device called the Watagage. It used coat hanger wire for legs and plastic Easter eggs for the body. Using a silicon controlled rectifier and a potentiometer, we caused a little light to illuminate when a predetermined moisture level was achieved (matching numbers on the potentiometer with a guide book). Instructions Print with supports. Freddy takes nearly eight hours. For more help on the electronics end, go to:http://www.instructables.com/id/Watagage-2000/
