A 44mm diameter watch case, sized for a 6497 or 6498 large caliber manual wind movement, and a large watch crown. Print out case and crown, purchase movement, mounting parts, top/bottom crystal, and then assemble your own horological masterpiece! Instructions You can use this case and crown to make your own watch with a large pocket watch caliber manual wind movement. You will need to print: -- Watch case -- Watch crown You will need to buy: -- a 6498 or 6497 manual wind movement (you can buy these here [http://www.siswatch727.com/showroom/model/T0165/templateProductDetails.do?ParentId=1240797174312004223¤tPage=1&editCurrentLanguage=1239717806671017347&webId=1239717806671017346&productId=1242292509609011170]or elsewhere on ebay. They range from 35 USD for Chinese to 390 USD for an ETA swiss movement. -- Crystal for front and back, with compression gasket (both are 40mm diameter, compression gasket is 40.5mm) -- Screw bars for 26mm lugs (strap width is 24mm, but lugs are extra wide). You will need to clean drill the lugs for these, the diameter of the hole will vary slightly depending on print settings (appx 3.00 USD) -- A 24mm watch strap with buckle (will come with spring bars , but these are not suitable for this case) appx 5-30 USD -- Movement mounting plates with screws (appx 3.00 USD) to secure the movement in place -- A dial and hands-- you can find these from a watch supplier like otto frei or make your own. I will be posting printable hands and dials to follow, these are still a work in progress. You should probably print this with exterior support or the lugs will sag. How you assemble: 1) Once you have printed and cleaned it up, you can install the watch movement from the top of the watch. Make sure the watch is in winding position (or keyless works will fall out), and that you take the hour wheel and hour wheel gasket off, or they will fall out as well while working. 2) The crown stem needs to , be fit with the crown you choose, the stem can be trimmed and sanded with wire cutters. Then install the crown by screwing in, and setting with small amount of glue if you wish. 3) Secure the movement in place with movement mounting plates/tabs. There are tab slots in the model, which you will need to clean up crisp to put the tabs in place. 4) Install the dial, and fix to the movement bottom plate, or if the dial has feet (sized for a 6497/8 movement), slide the feet into holes in the movement bottom plate and fix with mounting screws. 5) Install hands (center hour and min, and small seconds ( location of seconds depends on movement purchased-- the 6497 will have no seconds hand, or small seconds at 9 oclock position-- the 6498 will have small seconds hand at 6 oclock position) 6) Install crystal gasket, and lay crystal in place. The crystal should not need to be glued, it will snap in place with the gasket. Assembling the watch is not the easiest thing, and there are tricky steps, but all it really requires is patience, and a proper set of jewlers screwdrivers. If you run into problems contact me, or you can find many watch assembly guides on the net. Happy Printing!
