Edit, 28/08, 5pm slight alteration to make the design a bit more aesthetically appealing by adding a brim to the base so it slots together and mates cleanly. Also added a 40mm version for pocket watches. This is a newly deisgned barrel closer for wristwatch calibres, it could, theoretically be upscaled and printed for use in pocket watches. Depending on the printer used and how well calibrated the central hole set at 3mm may be smaller and will need to be enlarged with a drill bit to 2mm minimum to fit the barrel arbor correctly allowing the barrel to sit flush. It will hold a barrel up to 20mm diameter. I plan to print this in resin as I can print it in clear or translucent but it should work fine in PLA or similar on an FDM printer. It's intended use is for snapping on barrel covers after winding the mainspring back in and fitting the barrel arbor when servicing. The idea is to provide even pressure all round where the 2 pair of tweezers technique has a risk of deforming the barrel teeth or lid causing arbor endfloat problems or bending the teeth on the barrel itself. Both can be printed together with the hole facing up with no supports. If on resin, print solid, if on FDM use a very high infill, probably 80% minimum as the pressure in use is on the middle. *UPDATE FIrst set of files I uploaded were faulty, please don't use those.
