Water Bottle Carrier for Marching Drumline

Students across the globe continue to partake in one of the most physically and mentally demanding activities: Marching Band. Often, hours are spent outside in the heat of summer running drills and perfecting formations. It's important to stay hydrated because students can end up spending hours in the sun. But breaks aren't always given often enough, or at all on some days. Percussion members can't always carry water bottles on the field because of their large and heavy instruments. As a marching mallet-percussionist myself, I've noticed that this is a common problem for marching bands everywhere. Being dehydrated while carrying 25-60 pounds under the hot sun can lead to serious health problems. This water bottle carrier allows drumline members in marching band to carry water bottles on them. Simply attach the Harness Attachment to the harness where it will stay using a custom-measured friction-fit. Most marching bands use the same (if not similar) harnesses. The Water Bottle Holder is detached and pivots so that movement won't effect the holder and spill water onto an instrument. The pieces can be printed separate or together. Any type of durable, plastic or metal filament can be used to print. I printed with a cheap, plastic ABS material and used the holder for a full season, only making minor upkeep adjustments after using it roughly. The plastic didn't melt after being in the sun for hours, and even kept the drink cooler than the water bottles sitting on the grass.3D Printing is the best method to manufacture because the model is just small enough for many residential and public 3D printers. The design is easily adaptable to any desired printing style but I used the FDM printing style because it's common. That means that anyone can print this at home or at a local school or library. Any student would be able to download and even customize the words on the side to fit to their instrument or school mascot. Different colored filament can be used to customize the product as well. I've found that coordinating to your school's colors is extra fun. The design is meant to look cool with any marching band uniform (which already looks cool). I'm currently enrolled in Westlake High School - and the Westlake Demon Marching Band.
