Water Bottle with Filter

This file can be used to print a water bottle with a hole in the bottom for the filter (included in design). The filter and bottom of the bottle is then covered by another piece that seals the filter inside of the bottle and provides stability to the filter. A screw-on-lid is also included in the design file. Additionally, please note that drinking water out of certain 3D printed filaments can be dangerous and is not suggested unless you have taken the proper precautions to ensure there is no bacteria buildup within layers of filament and that filament is food-grade. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: .15 Infill: 10% Post-Printing Adding Filtration Components In order to make the filter effective, I suggest utilizing activated carbon or charcoal (available for wholesale purchase online and otherwise). I sewed coffee filters together and added the activated carbon inside in order to allow for filtration. Once completed and inserted into the 3D printed filter, all you have to do is shake the bottle in order to filter the water inside. I suggest, however, only using the bottle to filter out tap water that has already been deemed safe-to-drink, and to utilize the carbon merely as an extra layer of filtration for your drinking water on-the-go. Additionally, the activated carbon packets must be replaced every 1-2 months.
