Water Droplet Display

Water Droplet Display

This is a 30h+ print, so ensure that the print settings are such that the channels have no support structures, removal would be impossible needless to say! A support overhang angle of around 75 eliminates all internal supports, while still providing the support required for the printing of the inlet ports. Also I recommend printing the main body upside down, it ensures a good finish on the nozzles and a straight flow of the droplets leaving them. The inlets need support, if you print upside down as recommended, the support will start from their enclosure upwards, minimizing waste. This is the product of my initial intention of designing a somewhat esthetic body around a solenoid valve actuated water droplet text display. Although functional, the precision required to display letters can only be attained by releasing the droplet directly from the valves.
