Water Main Valve Wrench

Water Main Valve Wrench

This can be used to control the water main to your house, if the valve has a rectangular knob no larger than 35 mm by 15 mm and you have at least 50 mm of clearance all around the knob. Our valve is close to a basement wall and behind an access panel, which makes maneuvering a regular pipe wrench very difficult, and use of a street key impossible. It still takes some force to operate, so be prepared to use both hands. A lanyard loop is included so you can hang it from a hook or use a string to attach it to the meter/valve so it won't wander too far or get dropped behind the wall. To avoid gaps in the infill with Slic3r, I had to set vertical shells (perimeters) to 20, and set the bottom horizontal shells (solid layers) to the total number of layers (60 @ .2mm layer height), with 100% infill. The one shown is printed in HatchBox red/orange PLA. It took about 5 hours to print at 35 mm/s.
