Watering Plants with Truefruits Bottles and a string
prusaprinters

I like the bottles of truefruits drinks, so i use them quite often. In this case i water my plants via the string method while i am gone.

I did not want to punch a hole in the cap, as I would like to use it for something else sometimes. So i made a cap with a hole for a 3mm Sting, I used some garden twine (?) I bought for holding my tomatos up. Just make sure to soak of fully in the beginning, then the water flows better (or at all).

The bottle has to be above the end of the string to work really good. So i added a hook to hang it on the balcony.

There are 3 versions:

No Hold: Just a cap with a hole for about 3mm diameter String

With Support: With a holder for a 35mm round bar, with included Support, you have to cut it once it is printed.

No Support: Same as above, but without the support beam, so you have to figure out how to print it yourself.

PrusaSlicer prepared: The no Support Hook with PS support and modifiers for contures. But the standard support is pretty flimsy at that height, so take the supported file, and cut it off

To strengthen the hook I increased the number of contures to 5 for the hook. Printed on the Prusa Mini+ with 0.4mm nozzle and in Prusameter PETG Prusament Jet Black.

First tests are promising. The water should hold several days. Depending on the heat of course. Water the plant directly to prolong the duration.
