An old watermill has been completely renovated and a micro powerplant was installed. All material, except the alternator is recuperated from an old factory and from a 2CV Citroën. The 12V/70A alternator is connected to a set of batteries which in turn feed an inverter to provide light and refrigeration in case of power failure. The wheel rotates at 12rpm only. A very big ratio was required to obtain high rpm for the alternator. A jack was added to disengage the powerplant from the big drive wheel. A hydraulic shock absorber was also added to prevent unwanted movement of the pivotting frame.
