Weather Protector for Outdoor Padlock and Hasp My 'Lock Protector' for my shed door has finally disintegrated after 20 some years. I attempted to find a replacement without success and decided to design (Tinkercad) and print a suitable substitute . This is a first attempt at printing an item with a print in place hinge and it has proven a challenge. The source for the hinge: https://www.instructables.com/Parametric-Print-in-Place-Hinge/ Notes: Settings: 95% fill with the following layers - wall 6, top 4 and bottom 4 (It may well be overkill but I wanted a strong printing that would be more suitable for outdoors). I used PLA and it may not be the most suitable for use outdoors but it will be painted to offer some protection from the sun. If you have problem with the print lifting suggest using a brim. Caution: As this is my first attempt at using print in place hinge. I lack experience in this area and will need far more plotting of a wder variety of hinge designs before I am more comfortable. On the first prototype a smaller hinge design was used and it broke when pressure was used to 'free' the hinge. The hinge 'pin' diameter was increased and the hinge "released' on the second protype. Be very careful when 'releasing" the printed in place hinge as it could break if too much pressure is applied. Approximate plot times and filament requirements. Plot Time 14.5 Hr Filament 60 M
