PRINT IN A CLEAR PLASTIC! THE CHIRP HAS A LIGHT-SENSING FUNCTION I love my Chirp! sensors by wemakethings.net but even though they have a conformal coating of some sort I still don't like splashing them as I water my plants. This is a simple, easy to print cover with two parts: The main cover slides over the Chirp! and can be used just like that if you're just wanting some in-house splash protection. You can use the flat circular area to label either the plant or sensors. There is a ridged button on the flexible body which allows you to use the button without opening it up, just squeeze the case. The case makes the chirp a little bit quieter, the hole in front of the piezo speaker could be widened by hand afterward but the larger it is the more likely it is that water will get in. As it is, the hole should be small enough that surface tension will prevent major water ingress unless submerged. The friction-fit cap slides on the Chirp! from the pointy end and seals the thing up even more, in case you are using in a greenhouse or outdoors and you want to keep out dirt/moisture/spiders/etc. There is a poke-out plug in the bottom in case you are using the i2c connection and need to pass a cable out. You can use the pointy end of the Chirp! to poke it out if you need to. Cover and cap together should barely use 4g of material. Pictures show Faberdashery Natural (clear) PLA but any clear material should work well. Printed upright with NO infill, NO support and a single perimeter with a 0.35-0.4mm nozzle and around 0.15mm layer height. Enjoy.
