Wedge pieces for wire shelves

Have you ever put together one of those wire shelving units where the shelves are held up by these flimsy plastic pieces that snap on to the side of the posts? Have you broken those flimsy plastic pieces in the process? Now you don't need to wrap the post in duct tape and ignore the fact that its been lopsided for the last year. Instructions These pieces are a simple two halved tapered cylinder, with tabs to snap them together and a small inner ring to grip the groove in the post. The measurements are currently to fit my unit and aren't likely to fit yours, so change the variables at the top of the scad file to match yours and re-render. Just print out as many as you need to hold up your shelves, snap them onto the side of the post and slide the shelves down onto them. They don't actually need to be that strong, the compression from the tapered tube on this type of shelf is what provides most of the force to hold it up. I printed mine out of PLA and they have proven to be far more sturdy than the originals.
