Weebl and Bob

Weebl and Bob

thingiverse

These are functional roly-poly dolls of Weebl and Bob, characters from “The Everyday Happenings of Weebl (and Sometimes Weebl's Friend Bob),” a Flash cartoon series that started in the earlier days of the Internet. No pie yet. If anyone wants to make one before I find the time, add it as a remix so it can be easily found! The top is hollow while the bottom is solid, this provides the gravitational magic that keeps the dolls upright. For this to work, the bottom parts must be printed at a very high infill (for Weebl I recommend about 80%, for Bob 100%). The bottom parts do contain a few cavities to shift the center of gravity even further downward, and to save a wee bit of filament. Size is about 6 cm for Weebl and 3.8 cm for Bob. Scaling up the models should work, but scaling them down will result in too thin walls and stuff breaking when you try to assemble it. Print Settings Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 mm Infill: 100% Notes: Note for Slic3r users: if you want to use a fine layer height but hope to speed up the print by using the ‘combine infill every’ feature: don't, or at least verify that it does what you expect in your current version. In the current version (1.2.9), it will simply skip layers without adjusting infill thickness, therefore if you chose for instance 100% infill while combining every 2 layers, you will end up with only 50% infill. Post-Printing For the smoothest rolling action, you may want to sand the bottom part, or use acetone vapour on ABS. You can either paint the eyes if you have appropriate paint and a steady hand, or just print the eyes provided in the PDF image, although cutting them out will also require a steady hand… Action!
