Weighted helping hands with magnetic add-on

In the sea of helping hands I want to present my own design. It uses cheap Line-Loc/Snap-Loc clones and alligator clips.

As I am fortunate to be able to source free material from my job I decided to make a weighted helping hand base. This one uses two 100x100 mm 3mm thick ‘sheets’ of steel to weigh the whole thing downs. It is perfectly useable without extra weight though.

The magnetic steel lends itself for handy magnetic addons. I therefore made a base that houses a 13mm pot magnet and can be used to attach a Loc-Line attachment to it. You could make your own attachment for maximum customization.

STEP files are included for further tinkering.
