Western Digital My Passport Hard Drive Enclosure

This is a collection of modular units that I created to hold several handy Western Digital MyPassport external hard drives. I created the designs to handle the four drives I have connected to a little server. They were slipping all over the place. The drives are all slightly different sizes. This enclosure should hold most variations. It's made to work as a shelf, and units can be permanently attached to the left, right, top and bottom of each other. There's an STL file that is a cover. I also made a special cover that holds my Amazon USB hub to which the drives are attached. You can add stick-on feet to the bottom units, and pull the feet off if you add more units to the bottom. Updated: 2016-02-09 Updated the Amazon Basics USB enclosure. Brought the brackets in closer to the device. I also included top supports. They aren't permanent. I made the stubs short and glued them. Maybe they should be clips. I'd love feedback on the various locking and slip brackets if you use this. Maybe I should include some cable management. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.30 mm Infill: 10% Notes: I printed this at low fidelity with diamond infill. Post-Printing Assembly If you print multiple pieces, you can snap them together. Just line the parts up and push together. Make sure to snap both sides at the same time. There's a panel that goes across the back of the drive where the USB comes out after you slide it into the enclosure. Make sure to print a top piece.
