Here we have a complete wheel and tire suitable for table top robots. The system here is for use with 3mm Diameter D-Shaft small geared motors such as those sold by Pololu. NOTE: THIS PRINT REQUIRES SLICER SETTINGS FOR FINE DETAIL! ALSO here is a general purpose multi-function adapter to connect a 3mm D-Shaft motor (or other if you scale it) to any number of things like a gear, pully, lever or whatever! To use this you must be able to merge this piece with some other wheel then print the entire assembly. The wheel shown in green with the 3mm hub is one piece I include and suggest PLA for that print. For the tire, I use NinjaFlex and it prints out a really nice rubber. both of these I use 0.4mm nozzle for fine resolution as the 3mm shaft hole must be fairly accurate. The D-Shaft is the trick for this print. I have same printer that makes the green wheel shown from a Simplify 3D produced gcode and then I put the model into Cura and the shaft hole is too small. The right size is where it nicely slides in with a little friction but does not require great effort that noticabally splits the gap and then the wheel is wobbly. I believe a 0.4mm nozzle is required and I used PLA. Please see print settings for details. You may have to make one on your printer and then scale this to be slightly different so the fit on the shaft is a very snug fit and then it is a very handy piece for your designs. The full wheel and hub is to a scale that works well for my PLA printing. There is always the chance you may have to scale up or down the item(s) for your printer or for materials that shrink and so on. It is likely only a 2-3% scale change in the X and Y axis would be all that was needed one way or the other. The wheel and tire design to show off a specific need comes from thingiverse thing called 'Small Tire' by Bastien and is thing 626863. I made it half as thick using Z scaling then combined it to my D-Shaft hub that is key to this post.
