A sturdy scale wheel chock for medium size model aircraft with a wider base, designed to stabilize the aircraft’s wheels in the hanger and at the field. The chocks can be easily 3D printed, without any support, on a modern inexpensive 3D Printer. These objects can be printed with a variety of materials, including PLA, PETG, ABS and other type of printable materials. PLA works very well for this application. It is easy to print. The wheel chock parts should be durable, easy to maintain, and last for a long time. However, they should not be stored or kept at high temperature, exceeding ~55 C (~ 130 F). Should the wheel chock components be left in a high temperature environment, such as a parked car in the summer, I strongly recommend using another heat tolerant material, such as PETG or ABS to prevent warping. I have successfully used these wheel chocks since 2018, to stabilize my .40 to .60 size models, both at the field and in my hanger. They work well to prevent the model from rolling off a table. * The model aircraft shown in the pictures is a 68 in., 8.8 lbs (~1.3 meter, 4Kg), Black Horse Wilga, courtesy of Jim Ogorek.
