Whetstone Knife Jig

Torvek wanted $60 for a jig to hold a knife on its whetstone grinder--this cost me about $7.50 in hardware, and pennies for the PLA. I print most everything with a brim--it just works for me. However, with chamfered edges, you may want to shave the edges after peeling off the brim--to remove the sharp edges. I used Gorilla Glue Epoxy to lock in a few pieces of the hardware to one of the orange plates, so only the wing nuts will come off. When assembled, holding a knife, it's quite stable. But you will notice a small gap between the blade and the plastic--still pretty rigid, but adding a thin wooden shim might make you feel better. Still way better than the $60 OEM part. The 6" bolt could probably be a 4" one, but it does nicely counter-balance the weight of a knife. The black nuts and washer are to adjust the length of the tool, and, therefore, the angle of the grind. Be sure to install those on the carriage bolt BEFORE gluing the parts in place!
