Whirligig

Introducing a fully printable flying object: the Whirligig. Just like its wooden toy ancestor, the whirligig will fly like a helicopter several meters when spun by hand. Here's a video of the Whirligig in action: http://youtu.be/Ly2nxN80kGs No glue required! Just snap it together and let it fly! Instructions Print all parts. I highly recommend printing the wings without a raft if you can stand it so that the surfaces are nice and smooth. Definitely print the other tall, slender parts with a raft for stability. Snap one wing into each hole on Base1 by gently squeezing the tabs on each wing together and firmly pushing them through the hole until they snap into place. Put them on opposite sides, build platform side down. The fit should be snug. Be careful; the tabs on the wings can break off if twisted too hard. Connect the shaft of Base1 to the shaft of Base2 with the Connector. The added length provides stability during flight. To operate, spin between your hands counter clockwise and let go! Enjoy!
