Wide Mouth Mason Jar Flip Lid

Wide Mouth Mason Jar Flip Lid

When making cocoa or tea, I would have several jars/bags/containers all needing two hands each to operate individually which caused chaos and, once, an unsugared cocoa. To resolve this dire situation, I made a flip lid for wide mouth mason jars. Now, with one hand grabbing each ingredient jar in turn, the second hand can use the scoop with wild abandon. The band and flap print flat, no supports needed. The hinge is just some spare filament (shown in stylish red). Tease it in carefully with some needle nose pliers then snip off the excess. The result is a stiff-enough hinge that can hold open but is easy to move with the index finger. If you like it looser, use the pliers to squeeze the filament before inserting. The thread is 4 revolutions per inch inside a 87mm inner diameter cylinder. (technically, a coil in Fusion360: 2.35 revs, 15mm height, 87mm ID, triangle internal, inside, 2.5 section size) Not really a remix, but I started with https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:19105 and ended up making everything from scratch.
