Pollen from goat willow (Salix caprea, Salicaceae). Male willow catkins are different from most flowers in that they don’t have petals or sepals - they’re just clusters of pollen-bearing stamens and nectar glands. Technical description of Salix caprea pollen, from Paldat (Hesse & Halbritter, 2016): small isopolar monads, spheroidal or prolate, circular or lobate in polar view, tricolporate, with reticulate exine.
