The weeping willow (Salix babylonica) is a plant species from the genus Salix in the willow family (Salicaceae). It is also known as the Chinese weeping willow after its origin and as the Babylonian weeping willow after its botanical name. Die Echte Trauerweide (Salix babylonica) ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Gattung der Weiden (Salix) in der Familie der Weidengewächse (Salicaceae). Sie wird auch nach ihrer Herkunft als Chinesische bzw. nach ihrem botanischen Namen als Babylonische Trauerweide bezeichnet.
