Wind Vane for Arduino or Pi Weather Station

thingiverse

Wind vane for an Arduino-based weather station. However, the design should work for almost any wind measurement application. Sensor uses a continuous-turn potentiometer to detect the angle of the vane. The vane can be constructed from five printed parts and a handful of other materials. With the exception of the continuous turn potentiometer, all other parts can be obtained from your local hardware store. A 1/2 inch bolt is hidden in the nose piece to counterbalance the tail fin.
