Window Tilt Latch

Window Tilt Latch

thingiverse

This is a latch designed to hold double-hung windows in the normal position but when slid inward releases the sash so it can tilt in for cleaning. The mount holes are on 1.75-inch centers (44.5 mm). I could not find this narrow spacing online to purchase so I just printed them. I would suggest PETG because of sun exposure and I feel PLA would quickly degrade. Also, I printed the "slide" using support. There is a small unsupported area under the pin which is used to hold the spring. It is needed for clearance when the spring is installed. You will need to manually remove the support and trimming a little with a knife may be needed. The slide is simply mirrored for the other side while the base can be used for either. The "springs" are liberated from ballpoint pens. I needed 8 total for my 4 windows so bought an 8 pack of cheap pens from Walmart for about $2.50.
