Because of the corrosive environment created by charging lead acid batteries the battery hold down nuts corrode fairly quickly and eventually become nearly impossible to remove. Even stainless nuts erode if they are not continually cleaned and protected with terminal spray or grease...messy. So I created this Heavy Duty Flanged Wing Nut to replace the corroded Hold down Nuts on my electric Golf Cart. The Taulman 910 Nylon seems to be sufficiently strong enough to do the job and allow for easy removal for cleaning between batteries once or twice per year... I guess time will tell.
