Wing Nuts (Metric)

Wing Nuts (Metric)

These metric sized wing nuts will accommodate M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10 & M12 standard hex-nut sizes. The models are based on a hex-nut data table from www.fairburyfastener.com I have found that the sizes of standard hex-nuts can vary between brands/batches by almost 1mm. The models I've made will get you in the right ballpark but some fine adjustment may be required depending on the fit you are trying to achieve and what print settings you use. If you choose to scale the models up/down to suit your hardware, please remember that a small scale change goes a long way at these precision levels. I hope others can get some use out of these. Enjoy! Print Settings Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 - 0.25mm (depending on size) Infill: 20-50% Notes: I made the smallest size (M3) with PLA, using 3 wall thicknesses, with 3 solid layers at the top and bottom (0.1mm layer height) and 25% infill. It fit the M3 hex-nut perfectly and it is an effort to break once tightened. (if I was tightening anything up this hard for a practical reason, I wouldn't use wing nuts, I'd use a spanner)
