Wingman Brewers Tap Handles

These are the official designs used to produce the tap handles for Wingman Brewers, a craft brewery located in Tacoma, Washington. While the standard embossed logo version will be available for sale in the brewery's taproom, I have also included the version intended for use with a dry-erase label, as well as 2-color variations that they do not intend to make generally available for sale.

Note: these designs contain an embedded nut and require some extra steps when slicing. Please read the print instructions.

License details: I am the original designer of all of these tap handles, but all logos used are copyright to Wingman Brewers, Inc. These are being shared here with their permission under the CC-BY-NC-ND license for non-commercial use by Wingman Brewers fans. If you wish to use these commercially, please contact the brewery for licensing options (chances are good that you can get one for free through their distributor).

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.2mm

Infill:

12-15%

Filament:
Prusament or MH Build PLA Silver

Notes:

Print these standing up (not sure why Thingiverse shows these laying down), no supports. I often add a 4mm brim to add just a bit of support because they are quite tall.
These designs contain an embedded 3/8 in. 16 tpi nut compatible with standard US tap handle screws (I used these). To insert the nut, you will needs to pause the print immediately before the bridge layer prints over to enclose it. I recommend the "pause for filament change" feature in PrusaSlicer.

The bridge prints just above 11.51mm, but depending on your slicer settings that could be at any layer between 11.5 and 11.6, so please check your slicer's visual output to figure out where to insert the appropriate M600 or whatever code tells your printer to pause.

Post-Printing

Adding a label

The shield label.dxf file can be used to cut a label on a laser cutter or CNC. White acrylic makes a great surface for dry erase markers.

Category: Kitchen & Dining
