Wire Shelving Hook

Wire Shelving Hook

I designed this after dealing with the standard wire shelving hooks that would break off with a small amount of force over time.

The hook is intended to be used in place of the standard shelf hook/wall anchor. It has the same offset distance from the shelf to the mounting hole as the original item. However, you will need to install a new wall anchor in the wall to replace the broken original anchor/hook.

If you feel the need to add additional mounting strength you can utilize the bottom hole for a second wall anchor or simply use the lower one if the upper hole has damaged drywall that cannot be used with an anchor.

I printed my hooks with GF Nylon but you can also use PETG and PLA if you know the strength of your filament. Otherwise I recommend using nylon, ASA, and ABS with 4-6 perimeters and 20% infill, and lay the hook on its side to print.

STEP file added if you want to modify the hooks hole placement to fit your needs.
