Wire Stripper

Wire Stripper

This is a tool for removing insulation off long pieces of wire for the purpose of recycling the copper. If you have lots of scrap pieces of wire that need stripping, this tool can save a lot of time and headache (and cut hands) This is my first (working) attempt at this tool. I have stripped over 100' of insulation and am still using the same blade. So far it works pretty smooth, and what may have previously taken hours has only taken minutes. Tested on mainly #8 AWG With the two center screws lose, insert the wire to be stripped between the groved wheel, and the blade housing. Press in on the blade housing so that it grips the wire snugly and then tighten the two center screws. Then remove the wire from the tool and turn the bottom screw until the cutting blade sticks out enough to cut the insulation. Then just run the tool along the whole length of wire and peel the insulation away.
If the tip of the blade breaks off durring cutting, simply adjust the bottom to extend the blade further. Feel free to send me a donation if you find this tool useful.
