Wireframe Deer Head With Giant Antlers

Wireframe Deer Head With Giant Antlers

myminifactory

I reused the antlers of Low poly deer skull and antlers from Melles and put it on the Wire Skull Deer from Devin Montes. Because of the big size, the antlers needed to be very lightweight. So I cut it into separate parts, so that I can print them in vase mode (Cura: spiralize outer contour). To make the head stronger, I added more material on the wireframe head in many sections. The head was printed on a 30x30 bed in one part. I only separated the lower spikes of the head for a better print bed adhesion and an easy wall mount (this is optional). The antlers can be attached to the head without glue. They snap in with little pressure and fit tight. To make the attachment process easier, I added a 40mm M5 screw hole and space for a screw nut. You can keep the screws attached, because they are not visible from the front. The nut was added during the print with a small pause on a predefined layer height. The antler section with screw nut got 3 additional walls, 20% infill and 100% infill below the nut. All parts are provided with or without the mentioned cut. The horns are available in three versions: Full, cut 1, cut 2, cut 3. Measurements [mm] Head - Only: 178 x 313 x 111Assembled: 571 x 558 x 457
