Wireframe Skull (fixed)

I had a lot of problems slicing the original model with Simplify 3D. There are technically a lot of errors in the original model. If you zoom in on the mesh you can see it. The S3D slicer does not work very well with this. But I also had some problems with Slic3r. I needed some time to figure out what happens and then tried to fix the mesh using a lot of different tools and steps. The final version now passes all tests and prints very nicely. It is also scaled up to double the size of the original which was a bit small for my taste. I also made the ground plate solid and flat on both sides. See the supplied image: The right side skull is the original sliced and printed with S3D despite of the errors. The left version is my fixed version, printed on the same printer with the same settings. The color differences is because the left one was printed with white BDP while the right version was printed with Flax BDP both by Extrudr.com. Real print time was 10 hours. Edit: I didn't checked it before but http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1905711 is an even better fixed version than mine! So you may want to use that one if you are going to print this! Print Settings Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0,2 mm Infill: 20% Notes: I think the long print times result from heavy usage of retraction by that models design.
