Wireless DMX Lighting Control Mount

Wireless DMX Lighting Control Mount

This print is a very specialized way of organizing something incredibly specific ;-)

I have some DMX-controllable LED light trees that I use when I'm hired to run lights for various productions (theater, concerts, etc). The lighting is all controlled wirelessly on an iPad, but making that happen requires a DMX-to-ethernet adapter, a wireless router, and enough outlets to power it all. In order to keep it compact and portable, I designed this print to not only mount to the lighting tree itself, but to hold a power adapter to power the components as well as the LED trees themselves!

There is an indent for a triple tap power adapter that gets zip-tied into place. There are also slots to allow velcro straps to be inserted which hold the DMX adapter and wifi router in place. Finally, the excess power cord length is wrapped around the cord minder.

I printed it out of PETG so it can better withstand being stored in a hot garage in the desert as well as being outside during a gig. The mounting clips were printed seperately in Nylon for extra durability and flexibility since they have to flex to snap onto the main stand.

Print instructions

Print main mount as is in the 3MF file. Supports required for the overhangs of the cable winder. I used PETG for flexibility and temp resistance, 3 perims for strength. The upper and lower clips print without supports and are just bolted on. They are the standard size of a regular light stand.
