Wireless Microphone Receiver DSLR Mount

Wireless Microphone Receiver DSLR Mount

First I am not a 3D model designer as you will notice :), however I was tired of letting my wireless mic hang from my camera port because the mic company does not provide or have any mounts for it. These mics have to be plugged into an adapter and then you plug the adapter into your camera. If your camera has a mic port on the side, then you know having any weight constantly putting pressure on the mic port isn't a good thing. I could not find any mounts for it, but then I came across this model which I chopped up a little to fit my needs. I also stretched the file so the mic fits. I created this file from Hot Shoe Flashlight Mount by youmslinky https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4651950/files The screw hole is 1/4 inch and my hot shoe adapter screwed right in. It also has a slot on each side where you can secure it even more with a Velcro strip which I forgot to attach and take a photo of. The screw thread is not to snug but not loose. As you will see in the photos I used velcro which is the second coming of duct tape. The photos say it all and I hope it helps someone out there.
