Wireless Mouse Battery Cover

Wireless Mouse Battery Cover

I love my bluetooth mouse from Amazon. My 20 month old daughter got ahold of it and somehow got the battery cover off, and it is now missing. Knowing her, she probably put it in the trash. She loves putting stuff in the trash. So... now I can use my 3D Printer for USEFUL stuff, instead of trinkets :) Took 6 tries to get it right. Just measuring with a micrometer, and getting the tabs to work properly. This is my first truly useful 3D print, other than mods for the Anet. Pretty proud of it. I have quite a few other things missing battery covers, so I see a trend in what I'll be posting on Thingiverse :) This is the mouse on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/Multimedia-Connectland-CL-MOU23014-Bluetooth-Wireless/dp/B005UFDRWI/ I'm sure it is sold under different brand names. This may fit other mice too. The measurements are 48mm x 17.5mm x 2mm. Print Settings Printer: Anet A8-B Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .20 Infill: 15% rectangular Notes: The tabs may be a bit tricky. I use Simplify 3D, and here is what I did: 2 Processes. 1st Process starts from bottom and goes to 2mm: 2 Solid layers top and bottom 1 Outline/Perimeter Shell Rectangular infill 15%. 1800mm/min max speed (under advanced tab, need a nice and slow print) Extrusion Multiplier 1.07 Outline underspeed 50% 2nd Process starts at 2mm, and is exactly the same as the process above, with the exception of the exterior fill pattern being concentric. This is mainly due to me not being able to get the fill rate right to make them strong. If your settings are spot on, and you get a truly 100% fill layer on the tabs you probably won't need the 2nd process. The concentric fill just seems a little stronger, but makes the rest of the cover look ugly so I kept the first 2mm rectangular. Post-Printing You may have to trim the tab on the first layer if you have some drooping. Just take a razor blade and trim it so it's a square flush line, otherwise it won't fit. Tab before trimming. Stringy. How I Designed This Autodesk 123D, lots of trial and error (I'm still a newbie)
