Wltoys 1/28 Coreless Motor https://youtu.be/v2ujK8e8sWo rcgroups post https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2438955-Wltoys-1-28/page241 Coreless motors have almost no drag brake so they make racing more realistic, braking before turns may be necessary. Great for smooth concrete garage racing. Printed .16mm layer height, no supports, rotate 180 degrees before printing so that the 'tail' is in the air. This should fit models K969 K979 K989 K999 P929 P939 284131, only tested on 284131. Designed for 17mm diameter motors, smaller motors can be wrapped with tape to fit. Both motor mounts have been tested successfully but only with 9 and 12 tooth pinions. 9 is the smallest pinion that can be used, the motor would likely rub the driveshaft with an 8 tooth pinion. Let me know if you want to run bigger pinions, I'll add some more models. 9 or 10 tooth mount is for 9 or 10 tooth pinions, put electrical tape (~2 layers) on the outside edge of the motor to adjust gear mesh if using 9 tooth pinion. 11 or 12 tooth mount is for 11 or 12 tooth pinions, put electrical tape (~2 layers) on the outside edge of the motor to adjust gear mesh if using 11 tooth pinion. Recommended motor, it is about the same speed on the track as the stock motor with the same pinion. The mounting holes are too close together so this mount is needed. Motor is ~80% efficient, it only gets warm during racing, batteries should last longer. Cost US $8 + $30 flat rate shipping, I buy multiple at a time for my racing group to keep the cost down. Ask for the ccw version, I’m using the cw version because that was the only version available when I ordered. The ccw version should last longer. You may be able to flip the differentials 180 degrees to make the cw motor work, I did a test fit on one end and it seemed to fit properly. 17mm Coreless DC Motor – 25mm Type Model NFP-D1725-0141602 https://microdcmotors.com/product/17mm-coreless-dc-motor-25mm-type-model-nfp-d1725-0141602 I cut a foam ear plug in half and stuff one half between the steering servo and the motor to keep it pushed forward. The shaft is 1.5mm diameter and ~1.5 mm too short. The stock motor and most pinions are 2mm bore so I put a 8mm long brass sleeve on the motor shaft. Put space 2 or 3 piece s of ‘Glide’ dental floss in the sleeve before tapping it on with the handle of a screw driver, it must be a tight fit so it won't fall off. I also tried super glue and blue thread locker, they did not last long. Roll a hobby knife to cut off 8mm sections.
