My Wltoys 12427 (same 12428) suffered from noisy front differential (https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=43840841&postcount=3183) I designed a gasket for the front differential gearbox and 3D-printed it in PLA. It did reduce the noise quite a lot and logically should improve performance and battery duration. I have set the thickness to 0.5mm (~0.0197 in). It consists of upper and lower half and for me it was enough to use only the lower half. If you need thicker gasket you can upscale the Z-axis in the slicer software. For the rear diff gear box it was enough to just loosen the screws a bit.
