This is the upper Z Supports for the Wombot XL, carefully crafted by Aurimas Karosas. To understand their design, simply examine them closely, and use calipers to measure and inspect them thoroughly. Designed in Tinker Cad, these supports are not an official release from the original creators, but rather a modified version that addresses some issues with the original design. Specifically, they are slightly larger where the main bearing sits, and where the Z Rod rises up. By designing the supports this way, it's possible to alleviate the problem of a bow in the Z Axis rods that can cause them to move around 2-3-4mm at a time. Since then, I've replaced the rods with new straight ones, which have significantly improved the performance of my machine. Acme rod may be expensive, but it's worth every penny. Please note: Due to complaints from original creators, I will add this modification to all WomBot-MarkaBot items going forward. All items designed by others are not created by me, but rather remixed and modified versions of their work. I've given credit where it's due, and spent hours measuring and fine-tuning these designs using calipers until they're close to the original. These supports are not meant to be exact replicas of the originals, but rather a solution to a specific problem that I encountered while building my own machine. They're always a work in progress, and may not be as polished or refined as the original design.
