Wooden Pencil Cap

Wooden Pencil Cap

thingiverse

I love wooden pencils; I hate broken tips of wooden pencils. I have seen several wooden pencil caps here on Thingiverse, but they just didn't suit me. So, I reinvented the wheel. What I want in a pencil cap is fairly simple: 1. It must fit a variety of standard sized wooden pencils. 2. It must use a minimum of materials. 3. It must not fall off. 4. It must significantly reduce the chance of a pencil tip from breaking. This design accomplishes this: 1. It has been tested to fit both Ticonderoga and Mirado brand pencils (Yes, they have slightly different dimensions). 2. The design walls are 1mm thick, and it prints in about 5-6 minutes at .3 resolution and 60mm/sec. 3. It uses spring-like arms to grip the pencil, not just a friction fit. 4. Mine hasn't broken yet. Your mileage may vary.
