Wooden Trivet

A very simple model of a wooden trivet, for an effective use in the household.This trivet has the outer dimensions of 190 mm x 190 mm and exists of 19 wooden rods with a diameter of 10 mm and two leather ribbons with a diameter of 3 mm, which have a knot at each end, for holding the rods together.The trivet can be easily manufactured, using a drill bit, a saw and a scissors only.Take a look at the photos of the self-made part.The advantage of this design is surely, that in the ideal case only line connections exist between the trivet and the table, respective the hot pan, the hot pot or what ever.Think about wood and the air between the contact surfaces! Both, air and wood are poor heat conductors and therefore especially suitable for the application of this trivet.A compensation of uneven surfaces is given too, because of the possiblity of an angular motion between the wooden rods.The model is available in the following formats:STEP-file (.stp) of the complete assembly and the native files, (.prt) and (.asm) in a (.zip)-folder, for all users of »PTC Creo Parametric 2.0« and later versions.A special thank goes to » Bong-soo Kim « for sharing his "Knot" in the STEP-format. So I had the chance to scale this model to the right values I needed.
