Holders for most types of woodworking planes. My shop is tiny so displaying all of my vintage planes horizontally takes up too much space. I also wasn’t comfortable with the commonly used magnet system since I bump them all the time and worry too much about them cracking on the concrete floor. This solution has a lot of retention and makes picking them up quick. I also have an assortment of old Stanley, new Stanley, Millers Falls, Sargent and Craftsman planes so this mounting system is meant to fit all. I currently have mine in a plane rack, but you can use these as standalone mounts just fine. You’ll either need to print length bars to fit the sides or just cut them out of wood. Meant to be used with a common #8 Grip-Rite Home Depot screw. To mount, drill in the top first. Place plane into the holder, hold firmly to the top piece by the plane handle. While holding plane into the top piece, place the bottom piece where it clears the bottom of the plane by a few mm (bottom pivots out). Mark the hole location. Remove plane and then drill in the bottom. Test fit the plane. Should go up into the top and then down to lock in. STL files are sorted by width of the plane bottom. The assortment of files is as follows: • Two files for #3-6 common vintage bailey style planes • Two files for modern Stanley, Veritas and low-angle planes with thick soles • Two files for #7 jointer planes with ~3in plane bottoms • Two files for Handyman style planes. These were cheaper built planes in the 70s and 80s that are more narrow than vintage ones. • Two files for block planes (in the style of 60 ½). Works with vintage Stanleys and modern thick soled variants. Printed on Prusa Mini+ PLA 0.20 layer height no supports or rafts needed
