Workbench Built From Solid Core Doors

Workbench Built From Solid Core Doors

Idea I had for a rather sturdy workbench built using two solid core doors glued together as the top. Another SC door is used for the shelf. Dimensional lumber (4x4's and 2x4's) is used for the frame. My idea to hold the back together is to put a spline in them. I think with generous use of glue and screws, this thing would be, as they say, rock solid. Ought to be able to put a vice or reloading press on it and not have any problems. I find it interesting that Alibre says this should weigh just under 300 pounds while the same thing drawn up in SolidWorks comes in at just under 200. ???
