18V battery adapter to use Ryobi batteries on the original Worx GT WG151 weed trimmer. Parts: 2 ea- 3" length of wire (14-18AWG, I just used what I had in the shop, 14AWG) 2 ea- AAA battery contacts 2 ea- # 4or # 8 crimp ring terminals (either will work) 2 ea- 1/4 female crimp connectors 2ea - Small sheet metal style screws (1/4" long for battery contacts) 1 ea- 1" long sheet metal screw (#10) 1ea- Washer for sheet metal screw Tools you need: Wire crimp tool Soldering iron Hot glue gun or glue Assembly Print in ABS so it can handle the summer heat. Crimp the connectors on the wire and then solder them to ensure a good connection. Install the ring terminals/battery contacts to the battery case using 2 small screws. Slide the battery case onto the trimmer then attach the female connectors to the outer terminals (you might have to bend the terminals slightly to make a wider opening and use some pliers to push them on-it's a tight fit). Use high heat to solder the female connectors directly to the terminals on the trimmer. Drill a hole near the back of the case through the trimmer handle, insert the washer and 1" sheet metal screw and the printed spacer between the case and trimmer handle. Glue the case so that it stays in place and does not rattle. Enjoy!
